For love, honor and death

You could hear the steps being counted as with each foot step dug slightly into the snow leaving a trace of their footsteps before being quickly swept away by the wind.. Both with their top hats and coats.. Moving slowly as they count their own steps and the assistant of each one of them stands silently holding his lord’s belongings.

Back facing one another they silently look into the opposite direction one is a challenger the other is the challenged, it’s all a matter of honor, honor must be restored. It’s not about a death or blood but simply the honor.

The two men backs facing one another at almost twenty steps away looked at the horizon before them, could it be the last of the sky they would ever see or the feel of the winter wind blowing through their faces.

Gustav and Francois both caught in the love entanglements of the beautiful Felicity and both wanted to win her heart. The chase endured for months and none was able capture her heart.. They resort to one thing and one thing only. A Duel to the death..”For what Shall I be without Felicity?… If then my death and love is what I shall carry to the grave” those were Francois’s last words before the duel.

They both turned to face each other looked each other in the eye.. Slowly but steadily raised their flintstock pistols and aimed.. The silence that ruled this moment was so heavy it could engulf the entire world.. Both looked straight through other’s soul.. They both loved.. They both believed.. And shots were fired..
