Shadowy figures

Sherif was at a private indoors firing range, trying out some of the new equipment he had bought, and practicing with his old ones, he owned a shotgun, a scoped rifle and a desert eagle pistol, that’s a type of pistol that really kicks.

He wore his hearing protection headset and safety goggles and pulled out the desert eagle and fired three shots, one hit the head the other hit the heart and the third hit the center of the target.

He placed the desert eagle aside and picked up his scoped rifle and took aim at a much more distant target and took a deep breath before holding his breath and focusing, placing eye on the scope, this was a moving target, the target began to appear slowly from the far left end of the shooting range moving to the right..Sherif took aim, carefully followed his target and fired a shot that knocked the target instantly..

He then placed the rifle on the table, he was already sweating, too many things have been running through his mind and as soon as he finished, he took off his hearing protection headset only to hear claps coming from behind..

Sherif turned towards the source of the sound and found a man in a dark black suit wearing a distinguished grey tie and wearing sunglasses in the dim lighted room clapping while having a grin on his face..

Sherif looked at him and said “Thanks..I guess..”

The man replied with the grin still on his face “Sherif Ahmed El Amry, three times national shooting champion and two times Olympic gold medalist and son of Ahmed El Amry deceased previous commanding general of the third army, born and raised in Cairo, trained as an elite soldier despite not joining the army ranks for being a unique son, have I missed out something?”

Sherif leaned back against the table and took off his goggles placed them on the table then crossed his arms and shook his head while answering sarcastically “And did you spend your entire day reading newspapers to figure that out for yourself or did some nine year old kid give you a hand?”

“Oh but I’ve done it all alone, I’m a big boy and I can handle that type of thing..”The man replied as he adjusted himself and stood looking at Sherif, and leaned a hand into his pocket..

Sherif instantly felt threatened and grabbed his desert eagle and pointed it to the man..

The man looked at his watch and smiled “1.6 seconds.. Impressive..” as he leaned his hand inside the jacket further and slowly got out a card and handed it out to Sherif..

Sherif locked his eyebrows and looked silently at the card “Why do you want me to take your card? And why are you here in the first place? And who are you?”

“Let’s say I am just a good friend!” the man exclaimed as he looked at Sherif calmly his hand was still extended with the card..

Sherif looked at the card suspiciously..

The man tossed it as it flew across the air and landed on the table.. “I’ll wait for your call..”

Before Sherif could reply the man turned around and left..

Sherif looked at the card that was completely white.. He tried flipping it upside down but it was white not a single trace of writing or printing anywhere on it..

He walked outside quickly to try to find the man and tell him that his card was blank but he couldn’t find him or see him and went to the cashier and ask him and described the man to him but the cashier told him there was no man with the description he had just said..

Sherif walked back into the firing range and picked up his gear and placed the  card in the upper pocket of his jacket..

He rode his car and drove home, he opened the apartment door, walked in and closed it. The apartment had very old styled furniture since it belonged to his father and mother, his father had changed nothing of the furniture since the day his mother had died, very few photos were hanging on the wall mostly for his father and mother and him with some medals..

He took the card out of his placed the card on the table and took of his jacket as he walked to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water..He took a few drinks then walked back into the salon and placed the glass on the table..

He left the room and walked into the living room and turned on the television and watched some of the news and kept switching between different channels maybe he would find something that would interest him but nothing really caught his attention.

Sherif felt he was still thirsty and got up to get back his glass..

He picked up the glass and drank what remained of the water in the glass and as he began to place it back he noticed something very odd..

Sherif noticed that he had placed the glass on the card and since the glass water was so cold it formed water droplets around the glass because of the evaporation and these droplets fell on the card.. Which then revealed three numbers..

Sherif took the card and looked at it silently before dropping a few more droplets of water from his glass onto the card and revealed the number..It was a cell phone number, there was no name just a number..

He observed the card silently.. Then placed it on the table..As the water dried the numbers faded away..

  1. Undeniably believe that that you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be at the net the simplest thing to understand of. I say to you, I definitely get irked even as folks think about worries that they just do not realize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the entire thing with no need side-effects , folks could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thank you
